One of the more interesting sounding films of the early Summer is vampire action tale "Priest" from Screen Gems. The story is loosely adapted from Min-Woo-Hyung’s graphic novel series and set in a post-apocalyptic world where the Church has become the Government and men of the cloth are now enforcers. Paul Bettany plays a rogue priest who teams with a young sheriff and a beautiful priestess to track down a band of renegade vampires who have kidnapped his niece.
The newest trailer of the bunch has opted out of showing the mythology aspects of this world which the previous previews explored. Instead, this trailer delivers the balls-to-the-wall action that many are going for - Bettany kicking ass with almost Jason Statham-esque precision. The menace? A horde of creepy looking undead who would never be mistaken for those wussy "Twilight" vegan vampires. These vamps have teeth, big ones, and are more akin to wild rabid creatures than anything remotely human.
The Scott Stewart-directed feature is set to hit theaters on June 13th and will be screened in 3D.
