Favreau Won’t Helm A “Star Wars” Movie

With the director’s chair on the second of the “Star Wars Anthology” films on the way still vacant in the wake of Josh Trank’s exit, rumors have circulated regarding who might be in line to replace him.

One of the earliest possibilities that broke after the announcement of Trank’s exit the other month was that of “Iron Man” and “Chef” helmer Jon Favreau who is currently at work on Disney’s new “The Jungle Book” adaptation. This weekend though, Favreau ruled himself out of the running.

In fact, Favreau went one step further and tweeted that not only is he not directing any of the “Star Wars” films coming up, he doesn’t seem to be keen to take on an future entries in this franchise:

Favreau doesn’t have any other directorial efforts lined up beyond “The Jungle Book” as yet.
