“Iron Man” director Jon Favreau is skipping the comic adaptations for now and headed to the Mouse House where he is in talks to direct the “Magic Kingdom” feature film says Heat Vision.
As previously reported, Disney plans to combine some of their famed rides and attractions into a family adventure akin to the “Night at the Museum” films but set within the confines of the titular Florida theme park reports Variety.
“Battlestar Galactica” creator Ronald D. Moore had penned a previous Disneyland-set version, but a new writer was being sought. If Favreau signs onto ‘Kingdom’ as part of a development deal he and Disney are in talks about, he’ll likely have a hand in choosing a new writer to further develop the property.
Marc Abraham and Eric Newman will produce the film which is still likely quite some time off and won’t interfere with Favreau’s commitments to finishing up “Cowboys and Aliens” or the proposed “Iron Man 3”.
