It has been a big day for film release date news.
Vin Diesel popped up at Universal’s CinemaCon panel to make a big announcement – “Fast and Furious 7” has scored a release date of July 11th 2014. The project is currently slated to begin shooting this August.
Universal also used their panel to announce that the “Pitch Perfect” sequel is in the works with screenwriter Kay Cannon returning. A 2015 opening is expected.
Next up, J.C. Chandor’s dialogue-free, lost at sea survival drama “All Is Lost” starring Robert Redford will score a limited release through Roadside Attractions on October 25th.
Finally, FarEast Films have given a Japanese domestic release date of July 20th to “The Wind Rises” (Kaze Tachinu). The project marks animation genius Hayao Miyazaki’s first directorial effort since “Ponyo”. This would likely mean a U.S. domestic release sometime in 2014 (or even early 2015).
