Farrell, Bellucci Up For “Justice League Dark”?

One of the more mysterious comic adaptations in the works at Warner Bros. Pictures is that of the so-called “Justice League Dark” film. Guillermo del Toro was set to direct the project, a teaming up of the DC Comics heroes with a supernatural bent, but earlier this he opted out following numerous delays.

Warners continues to search for a replacement, but they’ve also been looking into potential casting candidates and today Latino Review reports that they’ve already centered on one potential – Colin Farrell as John Constantine.

The site says Farrell is the the frontrunner to play the chain-smoking occultist, and the main character in the group which would include Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna, Etrigan the Demon and potentially Madama Xanadu. Farrell is currently filming the Harry Potter spinoff “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” for the studio.

The site also lists Ron Perlman as a popular candidate for Swamp Thing, Monica Belluci as the main choice for Madame Xanadu, a “comedic presence” being sought for Deadman, and a hispanic/black actress being considered for the Zatanna role.
