Early production has officially and quietly begun on “The Conjuring 3,” the third entry in the highly successful and critically-praised horror franchise at Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line.
Vera Farmiga, who stars as paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren in the franchise, has posted a photo of herself alongside co-star Patrick Wilson as her husband and paranormal partner in crime Ed Warren. The pair seem to be getting ready to do a read through of the film’s script and Farmiga captions the shot “Happy first day #Conjuring3, Mr. Warren, my PWilz.”
It’s not clear if actual shooting has begun at this point, though previous reports suggested filming was to begin early June. James Wan only produces the film this time out with Michael Chaves (“The Curse of La Llorona”) taking the helm.
The new film is said to center on a man who is on trial for murder but who claims he was possessed by a demon at the time of the crime. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (“Aquaman,” “Orphan”) penned the screenplay.
The spin-off film “Annabelle Comes Home,” which has both the actors reprising their roles for cameos, hits cinemas later this month. “The Conjuring 3” opens on September 11th 2020.
