Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that it will stick with tradition for its “Harry Potter” franchise, confirming that David Yates is set to return as director for the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” sequel.
Yates has helmed every ‘Potter’ film since the fifth one “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” including the first ‘Fantastic Beasts’ film which opens November 18th this year.
Also back for the ‘Beasts’ follow-up is series creator J.K. Rowling who will once again write the script. That comes as little surprise though as Yates previously revealed the script had already been written.
It’s expected many of the main cast members will return including Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Jenn Murray, Jon Voight, Carmen Ejogo, Gemma Chan and newcomer Faith Wood-Blagrove.
The ‘Beasts’ sequel is slated for a November 16th 2018 release and will be followed by the third and final film in the trilogy which opens November 20th 2020.
