The first tracking figures are in for Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming “Harry Potter” spin-off film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” and the numbers look very good.
THR reports that the film is potentially set to hit at least $75 million in its U.S. debut, that would put it about on par with the opening weekends of the fifth and sixth “Harry Potter” films.
The studio has also released the new IMAX poster which you can see below. The story opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures.

Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Jenn Murray, Jon Voight, Carmen Ejogo, Gemma Chan and newcomer Faith Wood-Blagrove also star. The film opens worldwide on November 18th.
