Warner Bros. Pictures has used the Pottermore website to announce an open casting call being held for the sequel to “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”.
The filmmakers are seeking young actors to play the teenage versions of Newt Scamander, Leta Lestrange, Gellert Grindelwald, Albus Dumbledore and more.
Three actors between the ages of 13 and 16 are being sought to play young Newt, Leta and a character named Sebastian. Two actors between 16 and 18 are able to audition for Gellert Grindewald and Albus Dumbledore.
No previous acting experience is necessary, but applicants need to be eligible to work in the UK (meaning they must be a UK, Irish or EU passport holder), and be available for filming between August and November this year.
The posting seems to confirm there will be flashbacks which will include the friendship of Dumbledore and Grindelwald. Jude Law and Johnny Depp will respectively play adult versions of the characters.
More details on the job are up at Pottermore.
