Fantastic 4, “Daredevil” Director Shifts

20th Century Fox has confirmed one hiring and axed another in regards to their two proposed reboots of Marvel franchises they control.

Deadline reports that the company has confirmed it is set to reboot “Fantastic Four” with “Chronicle” helmer Josh Trank set to direct.

Expected to be Trank’s next project, shooting will begin after both “The Wolverine” and the “X-Men: First Class” sequel are complete. None of the original cast members will return.

Meanwhile director David Slade (“30 Days of Night”) has dropped out of the “Daredevil” reboot due to a scheduling conflict with the upcoming “Hannibal” series.

Fox must get the film into production this Fall or risk having the property revert back to Marvel.
