Fantastic 4, Assassin’s Creed Get New Dates

20th Century Fox has played around with its 2015 film schedule today, shifting various major movies by a good few months.

Despite filming already taking place, Matthew Vaughn’s “The Secret Service” film has been pushed back several months from November 11th next year to March 6th 2015.

Josh Trank’s “Fantastic Four” reboot was to open on March 6th, but has now moved to a mid-Summer bow on June 19th 2015. That puts it up against “Jurassic World” and “Ted 2” which are both slated to open the same day.

The Michael Fassbender-led film adaptation of the “Assassin’s Creed” video game series was slated for that June 19th weekend slot. It will now open August 7th 2015.

Two further films have been added to the schedule. “The Heat” director Paul Feig’s spy comedy “Susan Cooper,” starring Melissa McCarthy, is now slated for a May 22nd 2015 release.

Finally, “Delivery Man” director Ken Scott and actor Vince Vaughn are re-teaming for an untitled comedy which will open October 24th next year.

In release date news outside of Fox comes word on two other projects. Jonathan Glazer’s acclaimed festival entry “Under the Skin,” starring Scarlett Johansson as a man-eating alien in Scotland, has scored its first global release date – March 14th 2014 in the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Paramount has changed its plans for the release of its Jason Reitman film “Labor Day”. Originally slated for a Christmas Day limited opening, it will now get a one-week Oscar qualifying run starting December 27th. It will then get a wide release on January 31st.
