Acting sisters Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning have both officially signed on for the lead roles in the film adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s 2015 novel “The Nightingale” for TriStar Pictures.
This marks the first time the sisters will be acting together on-screen. and their second film collaboration following “I Am Sam” where they played the same character at a different age.
This follows the story of two estranged sisters coming of age in France on the eve of World War II and tells the story or their struggle to survive the German occupation of France.
Melanie Laurent helms the adaptation from a script by Dana Stevens. Elizabeth Cantillon is producing and filming begins in the Spring.
