Famuyiwa In Talks To Helm Cassian Andor

A new rumor has indicated that “Dope” and “Our Family Wedding” helmer Rick Famuyiwa is reportedly attached as director for several episodes of Disney+’s upcoming “Star Wars” live-action series based around Diego Luna’s “Rogue One” character Cassian Andor.

Discussing Film (via The Force.net) says Famuyiwa is in early talks to direct an undisclosed amount of episodes for the streaming service

The currently untitled series follows the adventures of rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion and before the events of “Rogue One”. Dubbed a ‘rousing spy thriller’, the series will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.

Luna and Alan Tudyk will reprise their respective roles of Cassian and K2-S0, while Stephen Schiff is attached as the showrunner. The series is aiming to begin filming on October 7th in Los Angeles.

Famuyiwa also directed two episodes of the upcoming first “Star Wars” live-action series “The Mandalorian”.
