Following yesterday’s globe-shattering news that Robert Pattinson has been cast as the new Batman in Matt Reeves’ upcoming film, a new report at Heat Vision has come up with an indication of which villains we’ll potentially see in the movie.
Heat Vision have today reported in their newsletter that Reeves is still tweaking his script, which is rumored to have at least two villains. In fact one source suggests up to six will appear in total, though some will only be brief if that’s the case.
They indicate both The Penguin and Catwoman, the villains of Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns,” will be back for this film which is dubbed an “almost noir-driven detective version” which is “point-of-view driven in a very, very powerful way” ala the lead in a Hitchcock film.
Pattinson’s casting yesterday continues to polarise and divide, not unlike many who’ve stepped into the cowl before him. Multiple Change.org petitions have already popped up demanding Pattinson be rejected from the role, and like most complaints are from those who only know him from the “Twilight” films as opposed to his more celebrated recent work like “Good Time,” “The Lost City of Z,” “The Childhood of a Leader,” “High Life” and what was effectively his Bruce Wayne audition – “Cosmopolis”.
“The Batman” opens June 25th 2021. In other Batman news, it has been confirmed the animated “Batman: Hush” will be hitting Digital HD on July 20th and disc on August 13th this year.
