Following its acclaimed third season run earlier this year, HISTORY has announced a February 18th premiere date for the fourth season of its historical drama series “Vikings”.
Earlier seasons have run ten episodes each, but the network had previously opted to increase that number to sixteen episodes. They’ve now announced that they’ve added another four on top of that, effectively giving us two seasons of ten episodes each.
The first lot of ten episodes will kick off from February 18th and run for ten weeks. The remaining ten will air later in the year. Michael Hirst (“The Tudors,” “Elizabeth”) is expected to remain the sole writer.
Joining the cast this season will be Peter Franzen as King Harold Finehair, Jasper Paakkonen as his violent younger brother Halfdan The Black, and Dianne Doan as Yidu.
