With the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut hashtag going big on social media over the weekend, spurred along by the likes of actors like Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck and director Zack Snyder himself, there’s a sense of renewed optimism among the fanboys that they may finally see Snyder’s original vision for 2017’s “Justice League”.
That was cut down pretty quick by a THR report which says according to their insiders “no announcement is imminent” from Warner Bros. Pictures one way or another regarding the fabled cut of the film. Even so, the vocal push for it is getting stronger.
Diane Nelson, former President of DC Entertainment, tweeted her support yesterday, adding: “if Zack feels he had the time and resources to finish a cut to his satisfaction and he would like fans to see it, nothing would make me happier than for him to have that opportunity.”
“Watchmen” showrunner Damon Lindelof also tweeted his support, saying: “I’m not saying I’ve seen it, but if I HAD, I would unequivocally support the powers that be to #releasethesnydercut.” Snyder himself says he has been “humbled by the outpouring and support” and has shared more images from his original take on the material.
