Espinosa To Become An “Outsider”

“Safe House” helmer Daniel Espinosa is in negotiations to direct the gritty action thriller “The Outsider” for Warner Bros. Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.

Andrew Baldwin’s script follows a POW in Osaka in WWII who stays on after the war. He works his way through the rituals and hardships to become the rare outsider who gains membership in the Yakuza crime unit.

Michael Fassbender has expressed interest in the project, but no actors have entered any talks as yet. “Sons of Anarchy” producers Art and John Linson are producing.
