Erik Aude Biopic On Odd Days

“Rocky” and “Right Stuff” producer Robert Chartoff will make “Odd Days,” based on the story of Erik Aude, a football star-turned-actor who was framed for smuggling opium and initially sentenced to death in Pakistan reports Variety.

The script, by Aude and Seth Abel, focuses on Aude’s road to self-discovery and the survival skills he honed in prison alongside international criminals and terrorists from groups such as Al Qaeda and the Taliban.

He was jailed in February, 2002, and served almost three years of a seven-year sentence before his sentence was reduced and he was released.

A civil trial in the U.S. recently reached a verdict in Aude’s favor against the man who had set him up as a drug mule.
