Epix has picked up the half-hour comedy series “Picture Paris” which will star Meg Ryan. The project has been put on a fast-track with a potential straight-to-series order in the works.
Filmmaker Brad Hall, “Divorce” producers Kapital Entertainment and producer/distributor Entertainment One are set to produce this series adaptation of Hall’s 2011 short film of the same name.
That film starred Julia Louis-Dreyfus as a suburban mom whose dream trip to Paris with her husband, after they become empty-nesters, may not quite live up to expectations.
Hall will write and direct the TV series adaptation, which he will executive produce with Ryan, Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor. If greenlit, the show is expected to film in France and would mark Ryan’s first series regular role in over three decades.
