English Helms Auster’s “Timbuktu”

Lakeshore Entertainment has acquired feature film rights to Paul Auster’s 1999 novel “Timbuktu” reports Variety.

The story revolves around a brilliant but troubled homeless man from Brooklyn who — with his loyal canine sidekick Mr. Bones — sets out in search of his beloved mentor and high school English teacher.

Diane English (“The Women”) will write and direct while Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi will develop and produce.
