Walt Disney Studios has announced that “Avengers: Endgame” has broken the record stateside for the highest ever Thursday evening previews haul. The film snagged $60 million on Thursday evening, breaking the record set by “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in 2015 with $57 million.
Including that preview amount, the film is now heading for a Friday opening day haul of around $130-140 million domestically. Numbers are being watched closely this weekend to see where they land with the film tipped to easily break the $257 million three-day domestic opening weekend of its predecessor “Avengers: Infinity War” and potentially reach and possibly even exceed $300 million.
Internationally the film continues to storm the ramparts, having already pulled in $305 million across 25 international markets on Wednesday and Thursday alone. The film also holds the highest all-time industry single day in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, The Philippines, Korea, The UK, Brazil, Egypt, Panama, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, Trinidad and Uruguay.
It has also snagged the highest all-time industry opening day in Indonesia, Malaysia, Netherlands, Greece, Portugal, Bosnia/Herz, Czech Rep, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine.
