Emma Watson In Early Talks For “Cinderella”

Emma Watson is in very early talks to play the title character in Kenneth Branagh’s live-action adaptation of “Cinderella” for Disney Pictures.

Cate Blanchett is already onboard to play the wicked stepmother in the film, which is said to be in the vein of its big-budget fantasy films of late like “Alice in Wonderland” and “Oz: The Great and Powerful”.

Chris Weitz penned the script based on a pitch by Aline Brosh McKenna. Simon Kinberg will produce.

Gabriella Wilde, Imogen Poots and Alicia Vikander were also under consideration for the title role at one point.
