Oscar winner Emma Thompson has joined the cast of “How To Build A Girl,” the film adaptation of Caitlin Moran’s bestselling semi-autobiographical novel of the same name.
“Lady Bird” star Beanie Feldstein plays Johanna Morrigan a smart, opinionated and overweight teenager in 1993. With her hormones raging, she desperately wants to get out of her hometown and make a name for herself.
It’s a goal she ends up achieving after she reinvents herself as Dolly Wilde, a rock music critic, and gains the notoriety she always clamoured for. Thomspon will play Johanna’s editor at a music magazine.
Chris O’Dowd, Alfie Allen, Paddy Considine and Sarah Solemani co-star while Coky Giedroyc will direct from a screenplay that Moran is adapting.
