Emma Stone Drops Out Of “Jump Street”

Rising actress Emma Stone (“Easy A”) tells MTV News that due to scheduling issues, she’s had to drop out of contention for the “21 Jump Street” film adaptation at Sony Pictures.

Stone’s “Superbad” co-star Jonah Hill is starring in the film and she’d been linked to it earlier this year. However her signing on to play Gwen Stacey in the upcoming “Spider-Man” reboot has thrown that possibility out the window – “I don’t think I’m going to be part of that [“21 Jump Street”], but Jonah is one of my favorite people in the entire world.”

She also joked that “I think Channing Tatum swept in” to her role, referring to recent news that Channing Tatum had signed on to the project. Despite being out of the film, she says “I’m psyched to see that movie. It’s going to be great.”
