Elisabeth Moss is set to join Tiffany Haddish and Melissa McCarthy in the film adaptation of Ollie Masters’ Vertigo comic “The Kitchen” at New Line.
The series takes place in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, in the 1970s and follows the wives of Irish mobsters who step in and take over to start running the business after several men are arrested during a mafia sweep.
Moss will be playing a timid wife of an abusive husband, and eventually starts to fall in love with the violence that starts to take over her life. Haddish plays a woman willing to kill anyone who gets in her way, and McCarthy is an adoring mother who leads the charge for the women to take over the business.
Andrea Berloff has penned the script and will make her directorial debut on the film which Michael De Luca will be producing. The movie opens September 20th 2019.
