Synchronicity Entertainment announced two projects at the AFM today, the most notable being “Cooties”.
“Saw” scribe Leigh Whannell and “Glee” co-creator Ian Brennan penned the script about a mysterious virus infecting an isolated elementary school, transforming the kids into a feral swarm of mass savages.
An unlikely hero must led a motley band of teachers in the fight of their lives. Elijah Wood is set to star as that hero and will produce for his new production company The Woodshed.
Ace Norton helms the project which will begin shooting in April.
The other film being sold is the thriller “Due Process” to which John Cusack is attached to star.
Paul Currie helms the story of two big city bankers who head to a farm to foreclose it. They get more than they bargained for when the farmer (Cusack) is not willing to hand it over.
Mark Holder, Christine Holder and Mark Williams will produce. Shooting kicks off in January.
