“Elementary” Renewed, “Great Indoors” Axed

CBS has renewed its contemporary Holmes-themed procedural “Elementary” for a sixth season.

Most recently garnering a 1.2 rating and 7.4 million viewers per episode, the series has several lucrative SVOD deals worth as much as $3 million total per episode, along with strong international deals that make it a very profitable series for the network

CBS has also picked up reality series staple “The Amazing Race,” though for the first time ever – there will be only one installment this season.

On the flipside, the network has also cancelled its Joel McHale-led comedy series “The Great Indoors”. Earlier this week, the series scored a low 0.7 rating and 3.9 million viewers.

Finally, The CW has confirmed that despite not being picked up the other day, the adventure drama “Searchers” and dark comedy “Insatiable” could still both score series orders with the decision likely to take place after the upfronts.
