Eidos Plans “Guardians,” Scraps “Deus Ex”?

The Square Enix-owned Canadian studio Eidos Montreal is mostly known for the two highly acclaimed recent entries in both the “Deus Ex” and “Tomb Raider” franchises.

Sadly it looks like they’re turning away from the world of “Deus Ex” for now as sources speaking both to Kotaku and other outlets suggest another planned “Deus Ex” game has been cancelled with no plans to green light another for now.

The developers are reportedly working on two big games at the moment. One is “Shadow of the Tomb Raider,” the third entry in the rebooted franchise. The other is allegedly a game based on “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy”.

It would be the second entry in Square Enix’s new partnership with Marvel announced last Thursday. Eidos Montreal is also helping out on Crystal Dynamics’ “The Avengers” title.
