Ehrenreich Steps Into “Beautiful Creatures”

“Tetro” actor Alden Ehrenreich has replaced “Skins” star Jack O’Connell in the Richard LaGravanese-directed adaptation of “Beautiful Creatures” reports Heat Vision.

An adaptation of the first book from the popular series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, the Southern-set story follows two high school teens and star-crossed lovers who must confront dark secrets that have haunted their families for generations.

O’Connell was to have played the young male lead but has had to step aside “due to scheduling conflicts”. Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons, Emmy Rossum, Alice Anglert and Thomas Mann also star.

Broderick Johnson, Andrew Kosove and Erwin Stoff are producing. Shooting is due to begin later this month in New Orleans.
