Alden Ehrenreich has reportedly emerged as the front-runner for the coveted role of a young Han Solo in the upcoming film about the iconic bounty hunter from the “Star Wars” universe.
The 26 year-old “Hail Caesar” and “Beautiful Creatures” actor was one of several actors who reportedly tested for the part including Taron Egerton and Jack Reynor. Ehrenreich is now apparently the one leading the pack after an impressive performance.
“21 Jump Street” and “The LEGO Movie” helmers Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing the project, the second of the “A Star Wars Story” anthology films following this year’s “Rogue One,” and will focus on the days before he linked up with the Rebel Alliance.
Kathleen Kennedy is producing and the film is targeting a May 25th 2018 release.
