Zac Efron is negotiating to join a film adaptation of Ben Sherwood’s novel “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud” reports Variety.
The story follows a caretaker at a cemetery who manages to have weekly meetings with a younger brother whose accidental death he feels was his fault.
Burr Steers, who helmed the upcoming Efron comedy “17 Again”, will direct and the project will likely be the next one for Efron who just scrapped plans to star in a remake of “Footloose”.
Craig Pearce, James Schamus and Lewis Colick adapted the script while Marc Platt is producing. Shooting kicks off in July.
