Edgar Ramirez (“Carlos,” “The Bourne Ultimatum, “Wrath of the Titans”) will headline Richard Kelly’s next project “Corpus Christi” at Quick Draw Productions says Variety.
Ramirez would play Paciencia De La Rosa, an Iraqi war veteran with severe post-traumatic stress disorder who forges a dangerous alliance with a wealthy industrialist in Texas.
The film is said to follow a much more traditional narrative than Kelly’s last three efforts – the acclaimed “Donnie Darko” and the less well-received sci-fi projects “The Box” and “Southland Tales”.
Kelly, Robert Rodriguez, Eli Roth, Sean McKittrick, Aaron Kaufman and Iliana Nikolic will produce. Ramirez and Kelly previously worked on “Domino”, the former starring while the latter penned the script.
Shooting kicks off in Austin and Corpus Christi in July.
