“Blood Diamond” and “The Last Samurai” director Ed Zwick is set to helm the adventure flick “The Great Wall”, the first project of Legendary Entertainment’s new Hong Kong-based Legendary East company says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story is being described as a mystery adventure film about the origins of China’s greatest manmade structure. Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz will write the screenplay, based on a story by Thomas Tull and “World War Z” author Max Brooks.
Zwick, Herskovitz, Tull, Jon Jashni, Charles Roven and Alex Gartner will produce. Warner Bros. Pictures is expected to distribute the film internationally.
