Eastwood Talks “Suicide Squad” Action

Though rumored briefly as a potential love interest for Wonder Woman, a role that ultimately went to Chris Pine, actor Scott Eastwood (“The Longest Ride”) is becoming a part of the DC cinematic universe with a role in David Ayer’s currently filming “Suicide Squad” movie.

Popping in to the Maui Film Festival this week, Eastwood spoke with E! News about the stunt work involved in his role:

“David Ayer is doing something the world will be really surprised about. We’re a lot of our own stunts… really physical, and David is a very physical filmmaker. He wants everyone doing their own stuff, and he doesn’t hire guys who are not willing to do that. I think active guys are always living with injuries. You’re always dealing with an injury. That’s part of it. It’s like sports. There’s always something.”

Eastwood was also asked about Jared Leto’s turn as The Joker and his encounter with the actor on-set:

“I think I was sort of afraid to approach him because I didn’t want to mess with his thing going on, nut I knew him before. I met him before he was The Joker. I just met him as Jared Leto. So I didn’t know if I wanted to mess up his thing.”

“Suicide Squad” has been slated for release in August next year.
