Earl Jones, Glover To Voice “Lion King” Remake

Director Jon Favreau used Twitter this evening to announce the first two members of the cast of the photorealistic CG animated “The Lion King” film currently in the works at Disney.

The one and only James Earl Jones will reprise his legendary role of Mufasa in the new film, joined by “Community” and “Atlanta” star Donald Glover as the young lion Simba. Matthew Broderick voiced the adult Simba in the original.

The film is the latest in a line of live-action versions of Disney animated classics on the way, the next being Bill Condon’s “Beauty and the Beast” opening next month.
