EA and DICE have succeeded on their promise of thrashing Activision’s “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” at its own game with today’s launch of the announcement trailer for “Battlefield 1.”
The newest game in the “Battlefield” series, which isn’t going to be titled “Battlefield 5” as first thought, takes the action back to the age of World War I. It sets the tone for a gritty new first-person shooter in a historial period that served as the genesis for modern military warfare.
The new game has a larger focus on melee combat and offers weapons like swords, shovels and clubs, as well as bayonets and maces. On the multiplayer front, up to 64-players can occupy the battlefield in small squads. The game is set to hit October 21st on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
