EA Abandons E3 For Their Own Event

Disney has skipped Comic Con for its own D23, Star Wars and Marvel events in recent years, now Electronic Arts is following suit and is sitting out the E3 expo this year in favour of its own separate event.

Dubbed EA Play, the event will take place on Sunday, June 12th-14th at Club Nokia at LA Live – a few days ahead of E3 which runs June 14th-16th at the L.A. Convention Center.

This will be a hands-on event for fans who can reserve free tickets and can try out the newly announced games along with enjoying live events. EA will still host private meetings at E3 though.

EA Play is likely to be the site for big announcements and unveilings of major upcoming EA titles – most notably “Mass Effect Andromeda” which is aiming for a late 2016 release.
