20th Century Fox has released a statement indicated that its “The Maze Runner” leading man Dylan O’Brien was injured yesterday while filming the last of those films, ‘The Death Cure’ in Vancouver.
Wes Ball is helming the film from a screenplay by T.S. Nowlin adapting the young adult novels of James Dashner. Production had been underway for sometime when the incident happened. The statement reads:
“Dylan O’Brien was injured yesterday while filming ‘Maze Runner: The Death Cure’ in Vancouver, Canada. He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment. Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery.”
TMZ has more on the story, indicating the accident was a car stunt gone wrong in which a vehicle hit O’Brien, leaving the “Teen Wolf” regular with ‘severe’ injuries and broken bones. ‘Death Cure’ is currently targeting a February 2017 release but that will potentially be pushed now due to the production delays.
