Dwayne Johnson has closed a deal to star in and produce “Jungle Cruise,” the live-action adventure film adaptation of its iconic theme park ride.
The original Disneyland ride takes park-goers on a journey through a range of leafy settings such as Africa’s Nile and Congo rivers as well as South America’s Amazon.
Johnson has found room in his schedule to shoot the movie in Spring 2018, once he wraps both “Rampage” and “Skyscraper” along with his “Jumanji” promotional responsibilities.
Dany Garcia and Beau Flynn in talks to produce along with John Davis and John Fox, while a director is now being sought. The project has been through several writers, J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay penning the most recent draft.
