Dustin Hoffman To Direct A “Quartet”

Oscar-winner Dustin Hoffman is in final negotiations to make his directorial debut on the feature “Quartet” for BBC Films says The Daily Mail.

Based on “The Pianist” scribe Ronald Harwood’s 1999 comedic stage play which Harwood himself will adapt, the story is set in a retirement home for opera singers in the home counties of England.

Maggie Smith, Albert Finney and Tom Courtenay all star in the project which will begin shooting later his year. Finola Dwyer (“An Education”) will produce.
