Dustin Hoffman Joins Mann & Milch’s “Luck”

Dustin Hoffman has signed on to headline the Michael Mann (“Heat,” “The Insider”) and David Milch (“Deadwood”) produced horse racing drama pilot “Luck” for HBO says The Hollywood Reporter.

Following a group of characters around a racetrack with Hoffman playing a tough guy recently released from prison who has always been involved in the gambling side of the field. He and his longtime cohort (Dennis Farina) come up with a new scheme revolving around said racetrack.

Mann will direct the pilot which Milch wrote. Filming kicks off this Spring in Los Angeles.
