Kirsten Dunst will play Marla Ruzicka in a film about the 28-year-old American relief worker who was killed in Iraq by a suicide bomber reports Empire Movies.
Ruzicka raised $28 million through the organization she founded, the Campaign for Innocent Victims of Conflict, to assist scores of civilian casualties after the Iraq and Afghanistan invasions.
She compiled lists of war victims and sought compensation and medical treatment from the U.S. government. Ruzicka and her driver were killed in April when a suicide bomber crashed into a security convoy they were trailing.
Paramount Pictures and MTV Films are developing the project which Lorene Scafaria (“The Mighty Flynn”) is penning.
