In a new profile piece for Variety, Lena Dunham has revealed that HBO comedy series “Girls” could be headed to the big screen after the series wraps. There’s a catch though – it’ll be something of a wait.
Dunham says: “I have fantasies of us all coming back and making a movie when we’re 40. I think we’d want to wait long enough for something to have really gone down.”
Dunham is about to begin shooting the show’s fifth season which jumps ahead a few months in time. HBO programming president Michael Lombardo has also reportedly spoken with Dunham in a way that suggests the show will likely wrap after six seasons.
