Dry-Humping and the City

The just released “Sex and the City” sequel scored scathing reviews and is under-performing at the box-office. This makes the prospect of a third film, with a wardrobe and Astroglide budget likely to top that of a small nation’s GDP, a not entirely tantalising prospect.

So E! Online reports that New Line is apparently looking into a different option for the franchise – a prequel based on Candace Bushnell’s recently released “The Carrie Diaries”.

Bushnell’s 400-page young adult novel centers on ‘Sex’ leading character Carrie Bradshaw’s high school years in Connecticut. Bushnell’s already at work on the second Diaries book about Carrie’s first summer in New York City, and mentioned last week she wasn’t aware of any further film talks based on her books.

If it does get made though, don’t expect younger versions of Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha as they don’t become involved in Carrie’s life until after she’s moved to New York City.
