Drive’s Refn To Adapt Jodorowsky’s “Incal”?

“Drive” and “Only God Forgives” director Nicolas Winding Refn has various projects in the works, and a new one has just come to light.

France Inter (via Indiewire) reports that he and collaborator Alejandro Jodorowsky are working on an adaptation of Jodorowsky and Moebius’ early 1980s six-part graphic novel serial “The Incal.”

Set in a dystopian future, the story details various factions battling to control the powerful Incal crystal.

The project notably followed the collapse of Jodorowsky’s ambitious and ultimately abandoned film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s “Dune” which lead to some of his ideas being poured into this property instead.

No word at present on where the project is setup, or what kind of time table it is currently operating under.
