Drew Goddard Drops Out Of “Daredevil”

A day ago came word that “Hot Fuzz” and “Shaun of the Dead” filmmaker Edgar Wright had dropped out of Marvel’s “Ant-Man” film due to creative differences.

Now, “Cabin in the Woods” director Drew Goddard has reportedly departed Marvel’s upcoming straight-to-Netflix TV series reboot of the “Daredevil” franchise according to Latino Review.

Goddard had been attached to write, produce and serve as show runner since last year. He’s also been attached to write and direct the Spider-Man “Sinister Six” spin-off at Sony Pictures. It sounds like he may have had to pick one over the other, with the latter winning out.

The Live Feed adds that “Spartacus” show runner Steven S. DeKnight will now take over. Knight worked with Goddard on both “Angel” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. Other credits include “Dollhouse” and “Smallville”.

Goddard will remain onboard “Daredevil” as a consultant.
