DreamWorks has landed the film rights to best-selling children’s book series “Children of the Lamp” says The Hollywood Reporter.
The “Lamp” novels were written by British author P.B. Kerr and include three titles, with a fourth due in September.
The books chronicle the international adventures of a family of djinn, or genies, who pass for human but have the power to grant wishes.
Lee Hall (“Billy Elliot”) has signed on to pen the screenplay, and Nina Jacobson will produce.
