Draft Day Dead, “Ghostbusters 3” Alive?

Some shuffling is going on behind the scenes at Paramount Pictures in regards to a couple of projects in development says Deadline.

First up it looks like the studio is already in exclusive negotiations and will likely make a deal to distribute the sci-fi feature “Our Name Is Adam”. Announced a little over a day ago, Tom Cruise stars in the project which is keeping its story details under wraps.

With ‘Adam’ coming in though, something looks like it has to go out and that would be its NFL-themed, Moneyball-esque film “Draft Day”. Kevin Costner had been attached to star and Ivan Reitman to direct the feature which the studio is putting into turnaround.

Scheduling is the main reason for ‘Draft’ getting dumped because another long gestating project on Reitman’s radar looks to be finally coming to fruition – the “Ghostbusters” sequel/reboot. That film will apparently go in front of the cameras next summer at Sony Pictures.

Costner himself is also busy with the currently shooting “Jack Ryan” and Luc Besson’s upcoming assassin drama “Three Days To Kill”. Both Costner and Reitman have a very small availability window to shoot the film and the chances of it happening look slim.
