Despite scoring the worst reviews of any new series to launch this Fall, the Ken Jeong-led sitcom “Dr. Ken” has been the Fall’s first comedy to score a full-season pickup.
The network has ordered the show’s back nine episodes be produced, bringing the multicam sitcom’s order to a full 22. This marks the fourth series this Fall to have scored a full season order following in the wake of “Blindspot,” “Quantico” and “Rosewood”.
The series has proven a surprise hit on ABC’s Friday block, building on its lead-in from “Last Man Standing” and averaging an impressive 6.6 million viewers and a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49. Its Metacritic score of 26/100 though is less impressive.
