Downey Still Keen On A Third “Sherlock”

As part of a report about his plans post “Avengers: Infinity War,” actor Robert Downey Jr. mentioned some of the projects he has in development and confirmed he’s still keen on doing a third “Sherlock Holmes” film.

At last report, several writers including Geneva Dworet-Robertson (“Tomb Raider”), Nicole Perlman (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) and Gary Whitta (“Star Wars: Rogue One”) were set to take a crack at the script. Nothing has progressed since then, though Downey Jr. tells EW:

“I’m having a good time (with The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle), though I decided to give myself, like, 40 additional challenges, like a Welsh accent – which even Welsh people say is hard to do. Then there’s all this stuff down the pike. We’re looking at another Sherlock Holmes, we’re developing Perry Mason for HBO. I still want to do Pinocchio.”

Downey would reprise the Holmes role opposite Jude Law as Watson and likely have Guy Ritchie returning to direct. The previous films were released in 2009 and 2011.
